The Finnish Expert Panel for Sustainable Development invites everyone to visit the Room of Future, where it is possible to experience and imagine what a post-sustainability transformation future looks and feels like. Room 2050 is organised in collaboration with the Falay Transition Design collective at Helsinki Central Library Oodi from Sunday to Monday, May 25th–26th.

The Room of Future is based on three positive images of futures created in collaboration with Demos Helsinki. In True-cost Economy, ecological and social harms and benefits are included into the prices of products and services. In Planetary Rules, an international, science- and norm-based system regulates overconsumption, restores nature and is responsible for the principles of fair use of natural resources, artificial intelligence and weapon systems. In Sustainability Awareness Revolution, education and learning strengthen the change in values, which leads people to direct their interests, skills and resources in ways that support the sustainability transformation.

Room 2050 is an invitation for citizens to seek and create new ideas for building a positive and sustainable future. Room 2050 is open to everyone at Helsinki Central Library Oodi (in Room Kuutio) on Sun–Mon, May 25th–26th, from 12 PM to 7 PM. You can arrive at any time, though by booking a visit in advance*, you can avoid queuing and ensure the possibility to visit the room. We have specifically reserved times on Sun from 2 PM to 4 PM and Mon from 4 PM to 6 PM for visitors attending without a reservation. Only a limited number of people can enter the room at a time. It is recommended to reserve ca. 40 minutes for the whole visit to Room 2050. You can book your visit time from the links below.
